HI,
I know you are only supposed to use a doll hairbrush on AG hair, but what should/shouldn't you use in their hair accessory wise? Is it o.k. to buy cute clips in the girl's section at Walmart? Just curious if I should be looking for plastic only or if metal clasps would be o.k.. I know Prsnlrd could answer this ??? since her dollies have the most GORGEOUS hairdos ever!
TIA,

I've gotten both the little/mini clips and barrettes (I find them generally at Target or drugstores - CVS and Walgreens around here). I think that some of accessories have metal on them, so I have not found any problem with using them. As with anything, I just take care in how they are placed and removed, so as to avoid potential damage/lost hairs.
PS/FYI - I get the small sized tangle free rubber bands (I think a company called scunci makes them) - they work great for pony tails, braids, etc. They come in clear and black.

HI,
I found cute mini barrettes at Target in the Dollar Spot, Dollar Tree and at Walmart, but didn't buy any yet. My DD has baby dolls w/ elastic headbands & we tried them on Kit & they were so cute! She wants my mom to make her some in colors to match Kit's clothes now. It is much easier for her to put the headbands on than to try & tie ribbons around Kit's head. She is a perfectionist & get's easily frustrated at times. She can tie a bow just fine, but keeping Kit's hair in place at the same time is another story. ckaterkatie, THANKS for your input. I appreciate it.

ooooh those mini barrettes are so cute, I got some for Felicity and Josefina liked them better. heh
Those little clear rubber band things are nice, I used them in Josefina's braid. I dunno I had a hard time with Felicity's pony tail with those, too small or something. And I got the bigger size. So she gets to use my stash of pony tail holders, since mine don't have any of the metal either. Thats just asking for it with my frizzy bird's nest.....

I think the big thing is just not to use anything that you use on your own head.
The oils in your hair can have a negative efffect on their hair. (Or so I was told, when I asked why you couldn't use a regular hairbursh)
